We did a Live Podcast !!!

This was easily the scariest thing that I have ever done !!!

Picture it ... Culture night, in the Portershed, Market street, Galway.... Two very nervous artists... Two Giant microphones, and a glass of liquid courage each. 

The very talented Siobhan Moore and I had a chat about all things Art to a live audience on Culture night this year, in collaboration with the Portershed who provided a lovely central venue and some of their incredibly encouraging and knowledgeable staff to a pair of greenhorns to the podcast world. It all began with a task we were given in a business course we undertook in the local enterprise office - customer discovery interviews - and yes they are as painful as you imagine!

 When we were discussing our 'discoveries' at the next meeting, myself and Siobhan were lamenting the fact that most people we spoke to commented with some version of 'well I dont know anything about Art' or ' sure i really dont know a thing about art'. I suppose the banter was flying and there was a lot of back and forth on the topic. Ye should do a podcast  declared Declan ( who likes to push us beyond our comfort zone). The horror we both felt was visible on our faces and yet we ended up not just doing a podcast but sitting on a stage, talking to an audience!  

Siobhan and I are great friends and conversation is never stilted between us, so that was a huge plus. We deliberately didn't over rehearse just giving ourselves prompts to get us over the stagefright and once we had the initial cupla focail over us it was grand.. I still cant watch it myself (I sound so different) but I hope to edit a couple of the best moments out for socials.
