Waxing Lyrical Launch in Galway City Library

We had a fantastic launch of my Solo exhibition of Encaustic (wax) paintings in Galway City Library on a sunny evening in June. So many of my Friends family and others who attended made it an incredibly special evening indeed.

I had not been painting very much for a few years as I was concentrating on the puppet making part of my practice, so this was my first solo exhibition in quite some time.

It’s a nerve-wracking time when the paintings are hung, the refreshments are laid out waiting and the artist is chewing her fingernails wondering if anyone will turn up! But turn up they did and many paintings and limited-edition prints were sold.

I want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who supported me and I’m looking forward to seeing my paintings in their new homes. This has been the start of a very busy year for me in which I am finally setting up my art (painting) as a business.. Stay tuned for more!
