Back in the Studio

Back in the Studio

It has been a heck of a winter season and especially hard for us here in Cruthu studio. My dearest Mum who was my biggest supporter in all I do lost her battle with cancer in December. I still find myself about to pick up the phone to tell her some bit of news on occasion.  Then we had to let our 'studio assistant' Daisy go over the rainbow bridge a couple of weeks ago. It has been a period of huge adjustment and grief for me, but that's one of the wonderful things about Art ( painting and creativity), It soothes the soul and starts the healing process.

This was Mum and myself at the Van Gogh Experience in Dublin a couple of years ago.

I am at last back in the studio and able to paint.. I will have a few new paintings to show you very soon , both encaustic (wax) and acrylic .. They are slightly simpler than my last series of work, but I think that came from needing some calmness and refuge from my chaotic emotions.

Thank you all who have followed me so far, and I will have more artwork to inspire you really soon.
